WATCH: Babar Azam reveals essentials part of his kit bag
Pakistan’s white-ball captain, Babar Azam, shared the key items in his kit bag that help him perform at the highest level. In a video posted on Facebook, the 29-year-old cricketer gave fans a glimpse of what he carries for his matches, especially during the Champions Cup.
Babar explained that he usually travels with 7 to 8 kit bags. He highlighted a new thigh pad, which replaced his old one after a year and a half of use, and praised his pads and helmet from Gray-Nicolls. Regarding gloves, he noted the importance of carrying 7 to 8 pairs, particularly in challenging weather. For his batting needs, Babar carries three pairs of spikes—one for practice, one in use, and another as a backup. Other essentials in his bag include catching gloves, an elbow guard, and basic gear.
Babar, who is currently representing the Stallions in the Champions Cup, demonstrated his outstanding skills by scoring a brilliant 104 runs off 100 balls in a recent match against the Dolphins. His performance, which included seven boundaries and three sixes, earned him the Player of the Match award, helping his team secure a victory by 174 runs. Despite facing criticism, Babar’s resilience has been key to his success.
Looking ahead, Babar’s Stallions will face Shaheen Shah Afridi’s Lions on September 25 at Iqbal Stadium. The stakes are high, as the losing team will be knocked out of the competition.
