Pakistan’s Hassan Usmani storms into ATP Asian U14 finals
JEDDAH: Pakistan’s Muhammad Hassan Usmani Shines, Reaches ATP Asian Under-14 Singles Final
Pakistan’s rising tennis star, Muhammad Hassan Usmani, delivered another outstanding performance on Thursday, dominating the Philippines’ Marcus Lorenzo Go in the ATP Asian Under-14 semi-final to secure his place in the singles final.
Usmani showcased exceptional skill and composure throughout the match, dispatching Lorenzo Go with an emphatic 6-0, 6-1 victory in what was a one-sided encounter. He now prepares to face Turkmenistan’s top seed Suleyman Hudayberdiyev in a highly anticipated final.
In the doubles category, Usmani paired up with his singles final rival, Hudayberdiyev, forming a formidable partnership. The duo impressed with their cohesive gameplay, earning a solid 7-5, 6-2 win in the semi-final against the pair of Marcus Lorenzo Go and Iraq’s Fahad Saif. The victorious team will now battle Saudi Arabia’s Anas Alzahrany and Souhail El-Taji El-Farouki in the doubles final.
This isn’t the first time Usmani and Hudayberdiyev have crossed paths in a high-stakes competition. Last month, the two faced off in the Ashgabat Open Tennis Tournament final, where Usmani delivered a commanding performance, overwhelming Hudayberdiyev with a decisive 6-1, 6-0 victory, conceding just one game.
Usmani’s journey at the Ashgabat Open was particularly remarkable, as he entered the tournament on a wildcard and stunned the competition with his skill and determination. He kicked off his campaign with a thrilling upset over eighth seed Kerimgeldi Velibegov in the pre-quarterfinals and continued his streak by defeating fourth seed Aly Geldyev in the quarterfinals.
With the finals in both singles and doubles now on the horizon, all eyes are on Usmani as he aims to continue his stellar form and cement his position as one of the brightest young talents in Asian tennis.
