Pakistan’s Asim Khan scripts triumphant start to London Open Squash Championship
Pakistan’s Asim Khan started his campaign at the London Open squash tournament with a strong win, defeating New Zealand’s Temwa Chileshe in the first round.
Khan won the match in straight games, with scores of 11-9, 11-6, and 11-15. He played confidently throughout, controlling the game and quickly adapting to Chileshe’s strategies.
After securing the first two games with ease, Khan had to fight hard in the third, but managed to win after a tough battle.
This solid performance is a great start for Asim in this PSA World Tour Copper event. In the second round, he will face a tougher opponent, top seed Auguste Dussourd from France.
The London Open has a prize pool of $33,000. Khan, currently ranked 60th in the PSA, is the highest-ranked Pakistani player and is looking to improve his position further with a strong showing at this event.
