Nottingham Forest Stun Everton 2-0 to Climb to Second in Premier League

Nottingham Forest continued their stellar season with a commanding 2-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, propelling them to second place in the Premier League. With 37 points from 19 games, Forest sit five points behind leaders Liverpool, who have two games in hand, and a point ahead of third-placed Arsenal.

Chris Wood opened the scoring in the 15th minute, finishing off a slick move. He nodded down a long ball to Anthony Elanga, who returned the favor with a header, allowing Wood to calmly chip the advancing Jordan Pickford to give Forest the early advantage.

Morgan Gibbs-White sealed the win on the hour mark. After a Forest counter-attack initially broke down, Wood cleverly slid the ball into Gibbs-White’s path in the box, and the midfielder blasted it into the net.

Everton, who came into the match on a four-game unbeaten streak, struggled to mount a comeback, falling short against a disciplined Forest defense. The loss leaves Everton searching for consistency, while Forest’s away form continues to impress as they remain firmly in the hunt near the top of the table.
