Mohamed Salah reached another milestone for Liverpool in their 2-0 win over Brentford.
Luis Diaz scored the first goal and assisted Salah for the second one. Salah now has two goals in two games and has scored another goal at Anfield, making it 14 goals in total at the stadium. This goal moved him ahead of Robbie Fowler on the list of all-time Anfield scorers. Salah now has 118 goals at Anfield, while Fowler had 117. Only Ian Rush (185), Roger Hunt (173), Gordon Hodgson (159), and Billy Liddell (137) have more goals there.
Salah is also fifth on the club’s all-time goals list, with only Liddell (228), Hodgson (241), Hunt (285), and Rush (346) having more goals. With another strong season, Salah could move up this list. Despite being 32, he’s still performing well, having scored 25 goals last season.
Salah’s contract is set to end next summer, and there’s concern that it hasn’t been renewed yet. Given his importance to the team, renewing his contract will be a top priority for the club’s management. Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are also crucial players whose contracts need attention.
Next, Liverpool will face Manchester United at Old Trafford. Salah has a great record against Manchester United, with 14 goals and four assists in 15 games, including a hat-trick in 2021 and goals in both the league and FA Cup at Old Trafford last season.
