Manchester City ended their winless streak in the Premier League with a vital 2-0 victory over Leicester City at King Power Stadium on Sunday. City opened the scoring in the 21st minute through Savinho, who pounced on a rebound after Phil Foden’s long-range effort was parried by Leicester goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk. From a tight angle, the Brazilian smashed the ball into the roof of the net, marking his first goal for the club.

Erling Haaland, enduring a rare rough patch with only two goals in eight league matches, added a second in the 74th minute. Savinho provided the assist with a well-placed looping cross after a clever pass from Kevin De Bruyne. Haaland’s header sealed the win for the defending champions.

The match wasn’t without its tense moments. Early on, Leicester fans clamored for a penalty when Jamie Vardy went down in the box after a collision with City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, but the offside flag spared City.
