Luis Enrique Reflects on Missed Chances as PSG Draws 1-1 with Nantes
Paris St. Germain manager Luis Enrique expressed frustration over his team’s inability to capitalize on their dominance in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Nantes in Ligue 1. Despite controlling the game with a record-breaking 84.1% possession, PSG struggled to break down a compact Nantes defense.
The result comes on the heels of a tough Champions League campaign that sees PSG sitting in 25th place after a narrow loss to Bayern Munich. The draw against relegation-threatened Nantes was another blow for the Ligue 1 leaders.
“Efficiency is everything in football,” Luis Enrique said. “Creating chances is hard against a compact defense, and when you don’t score, it becomes frustrating. The only way forward is to persist, trust the players, and keep improving.”
The match saw the return of Portuguese striker Goncalo Ramos, who played the full 90 minutes after recovering from an ankle injury. Ramos provided an assist and reflected on his performance, saying, “I felt good, with no pain, and I’m ready to push forward. We gave it our all today, but now it’s time to focus on the next match and keep working.”
PSG will aim to bounce back when they face Auxerre in their next Ligue 1 fixture on Friday.
