Madrid: French football star Kylian Mbappé feels he is settling in well with his Real Madrid teammates after scoring in their 3-0 LaLiga victory over Leganés on Sunday.
The 25-year-old had struggled to find the net in his first four games across all competitions since joining from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). However, a shift back to his favored left-wing position allowed him to open the scoring, thanks to an assist from Vinícius Jr.
“Vinícius and I understand each other really well. He’s a fantastic player, and we have a great connection,” Mbappé told Real Madrid TV after the game. “I think I played well. I’m getting used to my teammates’ style. I can play anywhere—left, right, center, or with two up front. My focus is on helping the team and scoring goals.”
The win keeps Real Madrid in second place in LaLiga, four points behind leaders Barcelona, who have played one game more. Barcelona drew 2-2 against Celta Vigo on Saturday, giving Real a chance to close the gap.
