Mohammad Amir Advises Rizwan After Pakistan’s Loss to Australia

Former pacer Mohammad Amir has shared some advice for Pakistan’s white-ball captain, Mohammad Rizwan, after the team’s 13-run defeat in the second T20I against Australia. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Amir praised Rizwan’s leadership but noted his struggles with the bat during the series.

“Rizwan is brave and leads like a warrior, but his batting seems hesitant,” Amir said. “He doesn’t usually play this way—he’s cautious and seems stuck. As captain, he should play freely, with a fresh mind, and focus on performing.”

Rizwan had a tough time in the second match, scoring just 16 runs off 26 balls with only one boundary. After the game, Rizwan acknowledged the challenging pitch but pointed to dropped catches as the main reason for the loss.

“The pitch wasn’t easy for batting, but those dropped catches really hurt us,” Rizwan commented.

Pakistan will now face Australia in the final T20I in Hobart on Monday, hoping to avoid a series whitewash.
