Leg spinner Usman Qadir announced his retirement from Pakistan cricket on Thursday, expressing gratitude for his time with the national team. The 31-year-old shared his appreciation for the coaches, teammates, and fans who supported him throughout his career in a heartfelt message on social media.

“Today, I’m announcing my retirement from Pakistan cricket,” Usman wrote. “As I look back on this incredible journey, I want to thank everyone who has been a part of it. It’s been an absolute honor to represent my country, and I’m deeply grateful for the support of my coaches and teammates who stood by me throughout.”

He reflected on the highs and lows of his career, saying that each experience contributed to his growth as a player and a person. “From unforgettable victories to the tough times we faced, every moment has shaped my career and enriched my life. I also want to thank the fans for their unwavering support, which has meant the world to me,” he added.

Usman, who played one ODI and 25 T20 internationals for Pakistan, didn’t achieve the same level of success as his father, legendary bowler Abdul Qadir, but he remains proud of his journey.

As he moves forward, Usman said he will continue his father’s legacy, carrying with him the love for cricket and the valuable lessons he learned. “I hold dear the spirit of Pakistan cricket and the memories we made together. Thank you for everything,” he concluded.
