Two debutants in Pakistan’s lineup for second ODI against Zimbabwe
Bulawayo: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the team for the second ODI against Zimbabwe in the three-match series on Monday.
Two players, middle-order batter Tayyab Tahir and leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed, are set to make their ODI debuts. They replace Haseebullah Khan and Mohammad Hasnain in the lineup. This move shows Pakistan’s focus on giving new talent a chance and testing their bench strength.
Tayyab, 31, has performed well in domestic cricket and now has the opportunity to showcase his skills on the international stage. Meanwhile, Abrar brings fresh energy to the bowling attack, earning his first ODI call-up.
In the first match of the series, Zimbabwe stunned Pakistan with an 80-run victory via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method. The rain-affected game saw Pakistan struggling at 60/6 while chasing a target of 206 at Queen’s Sports Club on Sunday.
With Zimbabwe leading the series 1-0, the second ODI is scheduled for Tuesday in Bulawayo.
