That’s how we want to play : says Agha after Pakistan rout Zimbabwe
Pakistan Clinches Series with Dominant Win Over Zimbabwe
Pakistan’s stand-in captain Salman Ali Agha praised his team’s exceptional performance after their commanding 10-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the second T20I at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo, on Tuesday. The win secured an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
Speaking during the post-match presentation, Agha emphasized that Pakistan aims to play assertively, regardless of the toss.
“This is how we want to play,” he said. “We don’t rely on the toss; we’re confident enough to win whether we bat or bowl first.”
Leading a youthful Pakistan squad, Agha expressed satisfaction with the contributions of emerging players, who have stepped up impressively in the ongoing series.
“It’s heartening to see our youngsters performing so well,” Agha said. “The way Abrar and Sufiyan bowled today was outstanding. The whole team is thrilled with their efforts.”
Pakistan’s spinners have been particularly effective in the series, but Agha also backed the pace attack, noting their progress despite facing challenges on Zimbabwean pitches.
“Our plans are being executed well,” he explained. “The fast bowlers are hitting the deck hard and doing their part effectively.”
The resounding win showcased Pakistan’s depth and potential as they aim to build momentum following a recent series loss in Australia. The team will look to sweep the series in the final T20I, scheduled for December 5 at the same venue.
