FAISALABAD: Pakistan cricketer Sahibzada Farhan, who is playing for the Dolphins in the ongoing Champions One-Day Cup, has expressed his ambition to become the top scorer of the tournament.

Farhan, while aiming for the trophy, emphasized that performance in this single tournament should not be the only factor for selection.

In an interview with Geo News following the Dolphins’ recent loss to the Panthers, Farhan reflected on the game and his personal goals.

He reviewed the match, saying, “Muhammad Hurraira and I had a strong start, but we should have carried on and finished the game. Hurraira and I discussed how we shouldn’t have let the match slip away. Our mentor, Sarfaraz Ahmed, also pointed out that with our good start, we should have won.”

Farhan noted, “We had control of the game during our initial partnership, but we lost wickets due to our mistakes. We got out near the boundary, not through LBW or being caught behind. These were avoidable errors.”

Describing the Champions Cup, Farhan highlighted its high level of competition with top-quality batsmen and bowlers. He also mentioned that the enthusiastic crowd has added to the excitement of the matches.

Regarding his personal goals, Farhan said, “I always aim to be the top scorer in every tournament.” When asked about the Champions Trophy, he remarked, “One tournament alone isn’t enough for selection. There’s a lot of cricket ahead in the next six months, and performances across all games should be considered.”

Farhan concluded with confidence, saying, “I let my bat do the talking. Whenever I’ve been given a chance at the top of the order, I’ve performed well, and I hope to keep up that form.”
