PCB set to add Azhar Ali, Aleem Dar to national selection committee
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to revamp the national selection committee, with an official announcement expected soon, according to sources from Geo News on Friday.
Former cricketers, including Aqib Javed and ex-captain Azhar Ali, are anticipated to be part of the new committee. Additionally, Asad Shafiq will keep his position, while ex-ICC elite umpire Aleem Dar is likely to join as a new member.
Sources also mentioned that Hasan Cheema will take on the role of data analyst for the selection team, while Javed will oversee key aspects of the committee. Azhar Ali is expected to focus on youth development.
Currently, the selection committee includes the captain, head coach, Shafiq, and five non-voting members. The roles of these individuals in the new committee have yet to be announced, following the resignation of Muhammad Yousuf two weeks ago.
The PCB is expected to clarify the new roles of the captain, head coach, and non-voting members in the upcoming week.
