PCB ‘postpones’ Pakistan Shaheens-Sri Lanka ‘A’ series
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Tuesday that the ongoing One-Day series between Pakistan Shaheens and Sri Lanka ‘A’ has been postponed just hours before the second match was set to begin.
In a statement, the PCB explained that the decision was made in agreement with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) due to political activities taking place in the federal capital. New dates for the remaining matches will be decided after further discussions between the two boards.
“The PCB, in consultation with SLC, has postponed the final two matches of the Pakistan Shaheens-Sri Lanka ‘A’ One-Day series. These games were scheduled for Wednesday and Friday at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium,” the statement read.
Both cricket boards will work together to reschedule the series and ensure its completion.
The Shaheens currently lead the series 1-0, after a commanding 108-run victory in the opening match on Monday. Earlier in the tour, Pakistan Shaheens also won the two-match red-ball series 1-0.
