Pakistan declare on 448/6 as Shakeel, Rizwan score centuries
On the second day of the first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Pakistan declared their innings at 448/6.
Pakistan started day two with a score of 158-4, with Mohammad Rizwan (24) and Saud Shakeel (57) batting.
Both Rizwan and Shakeel played very well, making it hard for the Bangladeshi bowlers to get them out. Shakeel scored 141 runs off 261 balls, hitting nine fours before being out to Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Rizwan scored 171 runs not out from 239 balls, including 11 fours and 3 sixes, which was his first 150+ score in international cricket. Shaheen Afridi also added 29 runs off 24 balls.
On the first day, Pakistan struggled against Bangladesh’s fast bowlers. Abdullah Shafique (2), Shan Masood (6), and Babar Azam (0) were out within the first 10 overs. Pakistan then recovered with a 98-run partnership between Saim Ayub and Saud Shakeel. Saim scored 56 runs off 98 balls, including four fours and a six, in his third innings. Saud and Rizwan then helped Pakistan reach a good total by the end of the day. For Bangladesh, Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud took two wickets each.
