Oct 7, 2024

The Pakistan cricket team has announced their Playing XI for the first Test match against England, which is set to begin on October 7 in Multan.

During a press conference, Pakistan captain Shan Masood shared the lineup for the upcoming match.

“This is our best XI. Aamer Jamal’s inclusion will be valuable, and we’ve kept our batting order consistent to maintain stability,” Masood explained.

Reflecting on the last series against England, where Pakistan came close to winning, Masood talked about the strategies needed to compete with the Ollie Pope-led team. He also acknowledged the importance of Ben Stokes, even though he won’t be playing.

“Stokes is one of the world’s best all-rounders, and his absence will definitely impact England. But their team is still very strong,” Masood added.

It’s important to mention that Pakistan lost both Test matches in their recent series against Bangladesh, with the first loss by 10 wickets and the second by six wickets.

Pakistan’s Playing XI:
Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood (C), Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel (VC), Mohammad Rizwan (WK), Salman Ali Agha, Aamer Jamal, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Abrar Ahmad.

Schedule:

  • Oct 7-11 – First Test, Multan
  • Oct 15-19 – Second Test, Multan
  • Oct 24-28 – Third Test, Rawalpindi
