PAK vs ENG: Khurram Shahzad, Aamir Jamal declared fit ahead of England series
Fast bowler Khurram Shahzad has been cleared and is now available for Pakistan’s upcoming Test series against England, according to reports. Another player, Aamir Jamal, who recently recovered from fitness problems, is also being considered for selection. Jamal, after regaining full fitness, participated in two matches of the Champions One Day Cup.
Khurram Shahzad was rested during the tournament to ensure his fitness for the England series. He had previously suffered an injury during Pakistan’s second Test match against Bangladesh but has fully recovered. Aamir Jamal also missed the series against Bangladesh after getting injured while playing county cricket but is now back in form.
Pakistan’s squad for the England Test series will be announced soon, and the team is expected to report to Multan on October 2 to start their preparations. England will arrive on the same day for the series, which will begin in Multan on October 7.
Notably, the second Test, originally scheduled for Karachi, will also be played in Multan because the National Bank Stadium is undergoing renovations ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025. The remaining two Tests will take place as originally planned, with the third Test set for Rawalpindi.
Revised schedule:
- Oct 7-11 – First Test, Multan
- Oct 15-19 – Second Test, Multan
- Oct 24-28 – Third Test, Rawalpindi
England squad includes players like Ben Stokes (captain), Joe Root, Ollie Pope, and Harry Brook, among others.
