PAK vs ENG: Interesting scenes to prepare spin wicket in Pindi
RAWALPINDI: With the third and final Test between Pakistan and England fast approaching, preparations at the Pindi Cricket Stadium are in full swing. The series decider is scheduled for October 24-28, and both teams are gearing up for a fierce contest.
To ensure a dry and spin-friendly surface, pedestal fans and heaters have been strategically placed around the pitch, similar to the setup in Multan, where Pakistan secured a victory in the second Test with key performances from spinners Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali.
At the Pindi Stadium, three heaters have been positioned on each side of the pitch, while black cloths are being used as covers on both ends to maximize drying. According to sources cited by Geo News, these measures are part of an effort by the ground staff to prepare a pitch that will favor spinners. The plan also involves leaving the pitch uncovered during the daytime in the lead-up to the match.
Pakistan’s new selector, Aaqib Javed, who oversaw the successful pitch preparation for the second Test in Multan, has now advised the Pindi ground staff to maintain the pitch as dry as possible. This includes ensuring that the entire square remains dry. Aaqib is expected to visit the stadium to personally inspect the pitch ahead of the third Test.
In this three-match series, England took the first Test, while Pakistan, led by Shan Masood, bounced back to win the second Test in Multan. Now, with the series tied at 1-1, the Men in Green are determined to clinch the final match and secure a 2-1 series victory against England
