Kamran Ghulam shared his excitement after being chosen for the second Test match against England.
Ghulam is set to make his Test debut today (Tuesday) at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
“I’m really happy to be making my debut for Pakistan. It’s hard to put my joy into words. Every cricketer dreams of playing for their country,” he said in an interview with the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The right-handed batter mentioned that he initially came for a fitness test and was hopeful of being selected this time.
He also shared that his family was overjoyed when they heard the news of his selection.
“I told my family, and they were very excited,” Ghulam added.
Reflecting on his journey, Ghulam credited domestic cricket for helping him grow as a player, saying that 14-15 years of hard work had led him to this moment.
“Playing against different bowlers in various conditions during domestic matches gives you great experience,” he explained.
The 29-year-old also said he took club matches seriously and used them as a challenge to improve.
Ghulam is confident he will continue to be part of the national team in the future.
When Azhar Mehmood informed him about his selection, Ghulam said he felt incredible happiness.
“I’ve waited a long time for this moment. Everyone dreams of a perfect debut, and I hope mine will be special,” he added.
