West Indies Name 15-Member Squad for ODI Series Against Bangladesh

The West Indies have unveiled their 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh, scheduled to take place in St. Kitts and Nevis from December 8 to 12. The series marks an opportunity for the Caribbean side to build on their recent momentum following a 2-1 series win over England in the “The Rivalry” series.

The squad features some new faces, with all-rounder Justin Greaves and uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Amir Jangoo stepping in for Hayden Walsh Jr. and Jewel Andrew. Both players earned their places through outstanding performances in the recent CG United Super50 tournament.

Coach Darren Sammy Optimistic
Head coach Darren Sammy praised the squad’s evolution and highlighted the contributions of the newcomers.

“Greaves brings versatility as a batter in the top six along with genuine all-round skills, which is a valuable addition. Jangoo, after his stellar Super50 campaign, strengthens our batting depth,” Sammy said.

Sammy also emphasized the team’s long-term focus on the ICC Men’s 50-over World Cup, while maintaining a winning mindset in bilateral series.

Pace Attack and Leadership
Led by captain Shai Hope, the squad boasts a potent pace attack with Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, and Jayden Seales spearheading the bowling department. Brandon King, named vice-captain, adds stability to the batting lineup.
