PCB seeks consultant in Sports Medicine to address cricketers’ fitness challenges

Sep 26, 2024

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that it will hire a Sports Medicine consultant to help diagnose and manage the fitness problems of cricketers, both at the domestic and international levels. This decision comes after ongoing difficulties in properly identifying and treating injuries that have affected players’ performances.

To find the right person for this important job, the PCB has put out a public advertisement. They are looking for qualified candidates who specialize in Sports Medicine. The consultant’s main duties will include diagnosing and treating injuries, as well as managing the players’ recovery process.

In addition to treating injuries, the consultant will work closely with physiotherapists and trainers from the national and domestic cricket teams. This teamwork will ensure that players stay fit and healthy through a coordinated approach.

To apply for this role, candidates need to have an MBBS degree, at least 10 years of relevant experience, and a good understanding of sports culture and fitness-related decision-making. Applications for the position will be accepted until October 10.

This role has been vacant since Dr. Sohail Saleem resigned as the PCB’s Director of Medical Services. The PCB is eager to fill this gap by appointing a qualified individual who can take charge of the fitness needs of Pakistan’s cricketers effectively.
