Imad, Amir among nine players granted NOC for franchise leagues
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to nine of its players, including Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim, allowing them to play in various franchise leagues. These players, who were not included in Pakistan’s T20I series squads for Australia and Zimbabwe, will now participate in the 2024 Abu Dhabi T10 League and other competitions.
Amir and Asif Ali are set to play for the New York Strikers, while Imad will join the Morrisville Samp Army team. Iftikhar Ahmed and Salman Irshad have signed up with the Bangla Tigers and Delhi Bulls, respectively.
Pakistan’s new white-ball captain, Mohammad Rizwan, spoke about the impact of these absences. He noted that players like Fakhar Zaman, Imad, Amir, and Iftikhar have made significant contributions to the team, and replacing their experience won’t be easy. “Their absence creates a gap that takes time to fill,” Rizwan said at a pre-series press conference.
Additionally, PCB has approved Hassan Khan’s participation in multiple leagues, including the Global Super League (GSL), the International League T20 (ILT20), and the Big Bash League (BBL). Leg-spinner Usama Mir also received clearance to join the BBL.
