ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 schedule likely to be announced this week: report
The schedule for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 is expected to be announced soon, according to an Indian news outlet on Tuesday.
Discussions about the tournament’s schedule are ongoing between the International Cricket Council (ICC), the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and other participating teams. An ICC source mentioned, “We are still talking with the host and participating members. The schedule should be ready in a few days.”
Tensions remain over the tournament’s location after India’s cricket board (BCCI) refused to send its team to Pakistan. The PCB has firmly rejected the idea of splitting the event into a “hybrid model” and insists that the competition will be held entirely in Pakistan.
Reports suggest behind-the-scenes talks are happening to persuade the PCB to reconsider the hybrid format. However, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi remains determined to host the event in Pakistan. Speaking to the media on Monday, Naqvi emphasized that all other qualified teams are ready to play in Pakistan.
“If India has any concerns, we’re open to discussions and will address them,” Naqvi said. “There’s no reason India shouldn’t come. We’re committed to hosting the tournament here as planned, and we hope all teams will participate.”
He also stressed the need for an official schedule soon to ensure timely preparations for the event.
