Dec 5, 2024

Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the nominees for the Men’s Player of the Month Award for November 2024, with Pakistan’s Haris Rauf earning a spot alongside India’s Jasprit Bumrah and South Africa’s Marco Jansen. Each player delivered exceptional performances that defined their teams’ successes throughout the month.

Haris Rauf – Pakistan

The 31-year-old right-arm pacer was pivotal in Pakistan’s historic ODI series victory against Australia, marking their first win on Australian soil in 22 years. Rauf emerged as the series’ leading wicket-taker with 10 dismissals at an economy rate of just 5.00, helping Pakistan clinch a 2-1 win.

His impact extended into the T20I series, where he took five wickets, including a stunning four-wicket haul in the second match. Rauf concluded the month with three more ODI wickets, taking his total to 18 across formats in November and solidifying his status as a key performer for Pakistan.

Marco Jansen – South Africa

South Africa’s all-rounder Marco Jansen showcased his versatility, making significant contributions with both bat and ball. During the T20I series against India, Jansen picked up a wicket in each of the first three matches and played explosive innings, including a rapid 17-ball 54 and an unbeaten 29.

In the first Test against Sri Lanka in Durban, Jansen delivered career-best match figures of 11/86. His seven-wicket haul in the first innings, including bowling Sri Lanka out for just 42—the second-lowest Test total of the 21st century—was a standout performance.

Jasprit Bumrah – India

India’s Jasprit Bumrah, stepping in as stand-in captain during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy opener, reaffirmed his position as one of the finest bowlers in cricket. His eight-wicket haul (5/30 and 3/42) in Perth was instrumental in India’s commanding 295-run victory.

Bumrah dismantled Australia’s top order, reducing them to 104 in their first innings after India’s own collapse for 150. In the final innings, defending a massive 534-run target, Bumrah struck early to seal the win, earning him the Player of the Match award.

Who Will Take the Crown?

The November Player of the Month race promises to be a tight contest, with each nominee bringing world-class performances to the table. Fans and cricket enthusiasts eagerly await the announcement of the winner, celebrating the outstanding talent displayed on the international stage.
