Dahani, Ahmed ruled out of third ODI against Zimbabwe, replacements named
LAHORE: Pakistan pacers Ahmed Daniyal and Shahnawaz Dahani have been ruled out of the third ODI against Zimbabwe, set for Thursday at Queens Sports Club.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that Ahmed injured his hamstring, while Dahani hurt his ankle during a training session on Sunday. After undergoing scans, both players will return to Pakistan today for rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.
The PCB statement added that both players will follow the necessary protocols for a safe recovery and eventual return to competitive cricket.
In their absence, Abbas Afridi and Jahandad Khan have been called up to the squad and will arrive in Bulawayo in time for the series decider. Both players are also part of Pakistan’s T20I squad for the upcoming series against Zimbabwe, which runs from December 1 to 5.
Additionally, Ahmed Daniyal will be replaced by Aamir Jamal for the T20I series. Jamal, who is part of the ODI squad, has already played in both of the series’ first two matches.
