Champions Trophy 2025 Trophy Tour Kicks Off November 16
ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Trophy Tour Begins November 16 Amid Schedule Uncertainty
Despite ongoing uncertainty around the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 schedule, the trophy tour is set to start on November 16. The iconic silver trophy has already arrived in Islamabad from Dubai, ahead of its nine-day journey.
The tour will kick off in Skardu and include a special stop at the K2 base camp. It will also cover the tournament’s host cities: Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.
Interestingly, this marks the first time an ICC trophy tour is taking place before the official announcement of the tournament schedule, which is usually released four months before the event.
Reports suggest the schedule’s delay stems from the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) refusal to send its team to Pakistan. This has created a challenging situation for the ICC, as broadcasters—who secured rights worth $3 billion—are pressing for an immediate schedule announcement.
The delay is particularly problematic for broadcasters, as Pakistan-India matches are major revenue and viewership drivers. Without clarity, they face significant financial losses.
The ICC now finds itself caught between India’s refusal and the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) strong opposition to the hybrid model proposed earlier. With the situation unresolved, the schedule announcement remains on hold.
