Champions Trophy 2025 schedule likely to be announced next week
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025, set to be hosted by Pakistan, is expected to have its full schedule announced next week, according to sources. An ICC delegation is scheduled to visit Lahore from November 10-12 to assess the preparations for this high-stakes, eight-team tournament. During the visit, they are likely to finalize and share the tournament schedule and other major details.
The proposed schedule has reportedly already been shared with the participating teams, with the event planned for a February-March time frame. Pakistan, as the host, is set to compete in Group A alongside traditional rival India, as well as Bangladesh and New Zealand. Meanwhile, Group B will feature England, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan.
Notably, India’s participation is still pending approval from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), as they await a final decision from the Indian government on whether the team can travel to Pakistan.
The tournament is tentatively slated to run from February 19 to March 9, with a reserve day set for March 10. Matches will be held across three key venues: Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Lahore will host the most games, including the tournament final, while Karachi’s National Bank Stadium is expected to stage the opening match and one of the semi-finals. Rawalpindi will host five matches, including the second semi-final.
