The Lions will play against the Stallions in the second game of the Champions One Day Cup today at 3pm. The match will take place at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.
Yesterday, the Panthers lost their opening game of the tournament to the Markhors by 160 runs at the same stadium. The Markhors scored 347 runs for 6 wickets in their 50 overs, with Kamran Ghulam hitting 115 runs, Iftikhar Ahmed 57 runs, and Abdul Samad 62 runs.
The Panthers, who won the toss and chose to field first, struggled with the Markhors’ batting. Mohammad Hasnain and Mobasir Khan took two wickets each for the Panthers, while Amad Butt and Mohammad Zeeshan took one each.
When the Panthers batted, they were unable to handle the Markhors’ bowlers. Opener Abdul Bangalzai was out for just 4 runs, and only Amad Butt managed a decent score of 72 runs. Usman Khan, Haider Ali, and Azan Awais all scored less than 10 runs. The Panthers were bowled out for 187 runs in 34.5 overs. Naseem Shah and Aqif Javed each took three wickets, Shahnawaz Dahani took two, and Zahid Mahmood took one.
