AUS vs PAK: Pakistan team reaches Brisbane for T20I series
Pakistan’s T20I squad, led by Mohammad Rizwan, arrived in Brisbane on Monday for the first match in their three-game T20I series against Australia.
Nine players from Pakistan’s T20I lineup traveled from Perth, while six members from the ODI squad — Abdullah Shafique, Saim Ayub, Kamran Ghulam, Aamir Jamal, Faisal Akram, and Mohammad Hasnain — returned to Pakistan. The remaining six players, who were part of a training camp in Karachi until November 6 — Jahandad Khan, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Omair Bin Yousuf, Sahibzada Farhan, Sufiyan Moqim, and Usman Khan — had already reached Brisbane.
Following their arrival, the squad will have a rest day before starting their training on Wednesday. The first T20I match will be held at The Gabba in Brisbane on November 14, followed by games in Sydney on November 16 and Hobart on November 18.
This T20I series comes right after Pakistan’s ODI series win in Australia, their first since 2002. Pakistan made an impressive comeback in that series, recovering from a loss in the first game to win 2-1. Australia narrowly won the opener by two wickets, but Pakistan bounced back with dominant nine-wicket and eight-wicket victories in the next two matches.
